How we review and match products
How we research ingredients, compare value and explain the choices behind our recommendations.
What makes a useful review?
A useful review helps you understand what you are buying, why you might choose it and what you should compare it with. We bring together product information, published laboratory reports and relevant research to answer those questions for Australian readers.
Our reviews are based on online research. The assessment comes from comparing the available information: the formula, evidence, price and buying experience described by the retailer.
We start with the exact product
Products from the same brand can have very different ingredients. We identify the formula, strength and pack size before comparing it with another gummy.
- Hemp ingredient: hemp seed oil, CBD isolate, broad-spectrum or full-spectrum extract.
- Amounts per gummy: CBD and other declared cannabinoids, rather than relying on a large number on the front of the jar.
- Additional ingredients: botanicals and other compounds, including whether their quantities are disclosed.
- Practical preferences: THC content, gelatine or pectin, and published allergen information.
This keeps a hemp seed oil product from being mistaken for a CBD gummy, or a whole-jar amount from being read as the amount in one piece.
How we assess the evidence
Official product pages and labels tell us what a brand says is in its product. A published laboratory report adds information about the sample tested, such as cannabinoid amounts and any contaminant tests included in that report. We look at the product and batch details, the date and the scope of testing.
A report for one batch does not establish the composition of every jar. Where a report is older or does not match the current product clearly, we explain that in the review.
Research into an ingredient helps us assess a product’s claims. We distinguish human studies from laboratory or animal research, and consider the formulation, amount and outcome studied. Evidence about CBD or CBN alone is not automatically evidence that a particular gummy delivers the same result.
Price and practical value
We show approximate Australian dollar prices and separate one-time purchases from subscriptions. Pack size, price per gummy and the amount of CBD can all help explain value, but they do not tell the whole story: a simpler CBD gummy and a blend containing several additional ingredients serve different shopping preferences.
We also look at dispatch location, Australian delivery information, shipping charges and return conditions. The review explains any material uncertainty, and the retailer provides the current price and delivery options at checkout.
How the product finder works
The finder compares six selected CBD formulas. Your main priority—sleep, anxiety or pain—sets the starting selection. A follow-up about timing or sleep disruption determines whether evening formulas belong alongside general CBD options. Your THC preference then filters the selection.
For example, daytime anxiety leads to general CBD formulas. Bedtime anxiety brings evening formulas into the comparison. If you choose THC-free options, full-spectrum products containing THC are removed and suitable general alternatives are included.
These are comparisons based on product characteristics, not predictions of how well a product will work for you. The finder does not assess your medical history or recommend a personal dose. Its order is set by your answers, not commission rates.
Editorial decisions and corrections
We explain the reasons behind a recommendation and link to alternatives where they help clarify the choice. Our coverage includes affiliate and non-affiliate products. Membership of an affiliate programme does not give a brand control over our conclusions.
Sources and checking dates appear in the reviews. If you spot a changed formula, an outdated price or an error, email hello@hempgummiesaustralia.com with the page link and supporting information. Read our affiliate disclosure for more about commercial relationships.
